I want to start today’s podcast off with a quote from Leo Tolstoy: “The two most powerful warriors are patience and time.”
I truly believe that patience is what builds greatness. When we pay attention to detail, think long-term, and build up our skills and relationships over time, we become more successful.
Still, patience can be hard. We all want to get results fast. When we start businesses, we want to see profit and impact right away. When we begin relationships, we automatically want things to go smoothly. And when we start a healthy eating plan, we want to see results on day one.
If you don’t have the results that you seek, you may be tempted to rush things and try to succeed as fast as possible.
Whatever you do, don’t do this.
Rushing leads to mistakes, oversight, or missing better ways to do things.
Instead, take a deep breath and prepare your heart and mind for patience. If you don’t see the results you seek, don’t give up (but also, don’t expect them to magically appear). You have to work at it. Success rarely happens overnight. It takes time. So, how do we prepare ourselves for patience during the waiting?
