Tim Ferriss

Invest in yourself.

Work It Out, Write It Out

Tim Ferriss is an incredible entrepreneur, author, consultant, athlete, bio-hacker, and life-hacker.

He’s the author of five #1 New York Times and Wall Street Journal bestsellers, including The 4-Hour Workweek and Tools of Titans. He also has an incredible podcast called The Tim Ferris Show where he interviews entrepreneurs, athletes, artists, and investors to learn their wisdom and share it with listeners.

As you can see, Tim doesn’t invest himself into just one thing. In fact, he says that working out is a great way for him to diversify his identity! That way, he can track his progress and watch his body improve, giving him positive, concrete feedback.

I’ve had him on the podcast several times, and each time he blows me away with his wisdom.

For this 5-Minute Friday, I wanted to share a clip from a previous episode that really stuck out to me.

What is one skill that everyone should invest in to make themselves better?

His answer was “writing!” Even if you don’t consider yourself a writer, Tim says that writing even a little improves critical and creative thinking. This can be simple as journaling once a week! No need to write a freakin’ novel! (But if you want to, go for it!)

To be a good thinker, first write your thoughts down. See them on the paper. Ask someone to edit them and revise as necessary. Then create!

I invite you to listen to Episode 909 to learn more about how you can be a wise investor and a compelling communicator with Tim Ferriss!
